THE CONNECTION BEHIND THE PICK

About Resonami & our approach.

Published

Resonami is a movie, TV, and book discovery service and the publisher of the recommendation guides on resonami.com. Our guides help you compare a few possible next choices through the themes, tone, and storytelling that connect them. In the app, your own ratings add personal context.

How we choose and compare titles

A guide starts with a particular movie, series, or book and offers three possible directions. We compare features such as atmosphere, pacing, relationships, structure, and central ideas. The explanation should say both why a title connects and where the experience differs.

These are selective editorial suggestions. They are not exhaustive lists, popularity rankings, predicted ratings, or claims that a creator intended a connection. A shared theme does not establish an adaptation or influence. The order is a way to navigate the guide, not a score.

Each guide links to title sources and identifies the work by year or author where available. Reading guides can distinguish a series opener, a short-story collection, or a standalone work so you can consider the commitment. The guide library includes recommendations within a medium and connections from screen to books.

What our sources support

Movie and TV title records come from TMDB. Book identity and catalog information come from Open Library, with publisher or author descriptions linked where used. Follow the source beside a title to inspect that record.

Catalog and publisher sources support title identity, creators, dates, formats, and premise information. Connections, differences, and reader or viewer fit are Resonami’s interpretation. A source link does not mean that the source endorses our comparison or recommendation.

Publication and update dates describe the guide’s content. A stated source-check date describes a check of the linked record; it does not promise that every detail remains current. Release years can differ between festival and general releases, and book editions and translations can vary. See catalog and artwork credits for attribution.

How AI assistance is used

Resonami uses AI in its recommendation tools. AI assistance is also used for editorial drafting and some original guide illustrations. Generated editorial artwork is labelled separately from official film, series, or publisher artwork.

AI can suggest a plausible connection that misses an important detail. Catalog checks help establish that a title exists; they do not prove that a thematic comparison is right for every reader or viewer. Our guides do not claim first-hand viewing or reading experience, professional credentials, or creator endorsement.

Guides, personalized suggestions, and public reviews

Editorial guides are public comparisons that you can read without an account. Their picks do not use your private library or ratings.

Personalized suggestions in the app use your numerical ratings and taste profile. AI suggestions are labelled, and starting suggestions are labelled separately. Saves and skips are neutral choices rather than ratings. The recommendation FAQ explains the current behavior and limitations.

Community reviews are opinions explicitly published with a profile name and rating. They are separate from Resonami’s editorial guide text. External catalog scores, when shown, identify their source and scale; they are not your score or an editorial rating.

Recommendations do not confirm current streaming access, purchase availability, age suitability, or complete content warnings. Check the relevant provider before choosing a title. Resonami helps with discovery and tracking; it does not supply the film, show, or book.

Report a correction or suggest a better connection

Use Feedback to report a factual error, broken source link, misleading comparison, or missing distinction. Include the public guide URL, the title or passage, and a supporting source when available. You can send feedback without signing in; a reply email is optional.

Guide revisions use a content update date. Source-check dates should change when the source is checked again. If your concern is about someone else’s public review, use its Report review control so the administrator receives the relevant context.

Your library and sharing choices

Your profile is private by default. Public profile sharing, avatar sharing, and publishing a review are separate choices. Public guides do not expose private ratings, saved lists, searches, or viewing history.

The Privacy policy explains what is stored, what recommendation and catalog providers receive, administrator access, and analytics choices. The how-to guide explains the controls. You can change optional analytics through Analytics preferences.
